"Not Everything that counts can be counted and not everything that can be counted counts."-William Bruce Cameron It is the end of the school year which means it is time to measure student growth. Carefully selected Measures of Student Learning (MSL) have been chosen and it is time to see if we met our expected growth. Today, my own students took their end of the year Science MAPS test. It was fun to watch the students compare their growth and see how much their effort paid off. But, as always, there were a few who had small declines. So does that mean they didn't grow? Of course not. So as we conferred about their scores, students shared with me how they had measured their growth this year. This helped them to realize how far they have come. Here are some of the celebrations we had today as we reflected on the year:
